We all bear responsibility
As a traditional manufacturer and family business in the 8th generation, we are very aware of our economic and ecological responsibility towards future generations. With over 1,000 employees, we are one of the largest manufacturers in our industry and our product is one of the oldest in the world.
For us, our social responsibility is inseparably linked to our responsibility towards our environment. By using carefully selected raw materials, recycled materials for the majority of the packaging, and an energy-efficient, modern production method, we achieve a future-proof balance of economic efficiency and environmental protection.
What we do
Changing our production and optimizing processes requires foresight and courage. We have a responsibility towards our employees and suppliers. Together we face the challenges of responsible action action.
Innovative ways
We have been working for many years to develop alternative carbon compounds for our products and to use raw materials responsibly. The most commonly used fuel for candles is paraffin.Vegetable fats such as rapeseed and palm oil are also being used more and more often.
We use these and other natural ingredients to develop products in RAL quality and, moreover, according to our own high standards.

Palm certification
As a member of the RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil, check our progress at www.rspo.org) since 2010 we are also actively involved in the development of standards for palm oil production.These strict rules are intended to ensure that, for example, cultivated areas are no longer cleared wildly and that minimum social standards are adhered to during cultivation.
In the candle industry, our production facilities were the first in the world to be certified according to the RSPO “Supply Chain Standard” back in 2012. Today we only process palm derivatives that are certified according to these strict criteria.
SWAN
Certain types of candles may be certified in accordance with Nordic SWAN Ecolabel requirements: nordic-swan-ecolabel.org
RafCycle
We’re cooperating with RafCycle. RafCycle recycles label material waste in compliance with UPM Raflatac’s recycling service.
Successful together
In 2021, in collaboration with our partner, we were able to save 136 tons of greenhouse gas emissions and 1,267 tons of resources*. Further information at www.interseroh.de

With our PRO NATURE series we focus on naturalness. Recycled materials such as FSC-certified packaging and natural waxes make these products particularly resource-saving and environmentally friendly.
